​​Growing a dental practice through strategic marketing

THE CHALLENGE

In early 2022 Dr. Adam Gregor acquired a practice in Batavia, NY, with a solid foundation but lacking in marketing efforts. Despite being an existing practice rather than a startup, the practice had no digital footprint beyond a basic website. Dr. Gregor, introduced to Day One through a mutual connection at a Dental Nachos event, was looking for support to relieve the burden of marketing. With a vision to focus on patient care and practice growth, Dr. Gregor entrusted Day One to spearhead the marketing efforts, which he was feeling overwhelmed by.

THE APPROACH

Day One initiated a comprehensive digital marketing strategy including reviews, social media, and SEO. Beginning in September 2022, the strategy prioritized organic growth on social media, with a focus on establishing a strong presence on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Additionally, Day One created a system for patient reviews for Dr Gregor’s practice, gradually improving the practice’s online reputation. At the same time, SEO efforts aimed to enhance the practice’s visibility in local search results, laying the groundwork for future growth.

Overall, the original system consisted of:

High-level digital marketing strategy

Social media – Organic Instagram and Facebook pages

Reputation management – Put in place a system to regularly ask for reviews

SEO – Focus on User Acquisition to the website; optimizing the Google Business Profile; and focusing on keyword rankings on the website

New website dramatically improves online presence

A pivotal moment came with the overhaul of the practice’s existing website between May and August 2023. The new website, tailored to reflect Dr. Gregor’s approachable personality and the practice’s welcoming atmosphere, significantly boosted its online presence. Specific service pages optimized for SEO propelled the practice to the top of search rankings, ensuring maximum visibility among potential patients.

THE RESULTS

The combined efforts yielded strong results within a short timeframe. Dr. Gregor’s practice experienced a surge in new patient acquisition. The increased demand enabled Dr Gregor to expand his practice, with staff doubling from three to six team members. Empowered by the growth, Dr. Gregor now plans to onboard an associate to support further expansion and offer additional specialist services like Invisalign.

Looking ahead, Dr. Gregor is planning for continued growth and diversification of services. As the practice expands its offerings, rebranding under a unified practice name is on the horizon.
